Stocks open to lackluster action
Dow -158.56 at 40703.15, Nasdaq -4.45 at 17391.06, S&P -8.50 at 5545.63

[BRIEFING.COM] The stock market opened to lackluster action. There's not a lot of conviction after a solid run this week that has the major indices sitting on solid gains. The market is little changed from prior closing levels.

Ongoing buying in mega cap names like NVIDIA (NVDA 118.43, +1.53, +1.3%) has provided some support to the broader market. The Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF (MGK) shows a 0.2% gain.

Three S&P 500 sectors are higher while eight trade lower. None of the sectors are moving more than 0.7% in either direction except communication services, which sports a 1.1% gain.

The energy sector trades slightly higher, benefitting from upside action in oil prices. WTI crude oil futures trade up 1.7% to $68.47/bbl.

The 10-yr yield is at 3.67% and the 2-yr yield is at 3.66%.
