Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 tipped into positive territory, but the index hasn't moved up or down much in either direction. The equal-weighted S&P 500 shows a 0.1% decline. 

Losses in the semiconductor space have acted as a limiting factor for index performance despite TSMC (TSM 164.92, +0.29, +0.2%) reporting a jump in sales in July. NVIDIA (NVDA 104.28, -0.69, -0.7%) is a top laggard from the space. The PHLX Semiconductor Index shows a 1.3% decline.

This price action has also clipped the S&P 500 info tech sector, which trades slightly lower despite gains in Apple (AAPL 214.25, +0.94, +0.4%) and Microsoft (MSFT 403.33, +0.70, +0.2%).
