[BRIEFING.COM] The major indices moved slightly lower in recent trading, but still show solid gains. The Russell 2000 is coming along for the upside ride, sporting a 1.1% gain.
The 11 S&P 500 sectors remain in positive territory and 26 of the 30 Dow components trade higher. Walt Disney (DIS 88.55, -1.44, -1.6%) and Amgen (AMGN 314.21, -13.84, -4.2%) are underperforming, showing the largest declines in the DJIA after reporting earnings.
Walt Disney's streaming business generated positive operating income for the first time, but demand is weakening for its theme parks. Amgen reported below-consensus earnings.
