[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 trades about five points below yesterday's close, down 0.1%. The equal-weighted S&P 500 trades flat.
Market breadth is mixed, reflecting an ongoing lack of conviction. Advancers lead decliners by an 11-to-10 margin at the NYSE and decliners have a 4-to-3 lead over advancers at the Nasdaq.
Many mega cap stocks trade lower, having an outsized impact on major indices. NVIDIA (NVDA 127.30, -1.01, -0.8%) is a standout in that respect in front of its earnings report after today's close. Microsoft (MSFT 412.64, -1.22, -0.3%) and Amazon.com (AMZN 171.99, -1.16, -0.7%) are also influential losers.
