[BRIEFING.COM] The stock market opened to mixed action. The S&P 500 (+0.2%) and Nasdaq Composite (+0.3%) trade higher, boosted by mega cap gains, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average (-0.1%) and Russell 2000 (-0.1%) sport declines.
There's not a lot of conviction after the big run of late and in front of Wednesday's release of benchmark revisions for nonfarm payrolls and the FOMC Minutes for the July 30-31 meeting.
The S&P 500 health care (+0.9%) and communication services (+0.6%) sectors show relative strength while the energy (-0.9%) and real estate (-0.2%) sectors underperform the index.
The 10-yr note yield is down three basis points to 3.84% and the 2-yr note yield is down five basis points to 4.02%.
