Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The Dow Jones Industrial Average (-2.14%) is down more than 860 points but holds the shallowest losses (on an admittedly sharply lower session) among the major averages.

A look inside the DJIA shows that Intel (INTC 21.10, -7.95, -27.37%), Amazon (AMZN 165.66, -18.41, -10.00%), and American Express (AXP 231.18, -17.50, -7.04%) are underperforming.

Meanwhile, Apple (AAPL 224.67, +6.31, +2.89%) is today's top gain getter.

The DJIA has put together losses of -3.33% in the first two days of August.

Elsewhere, at the top of the hour, Baker Hughes (BKR 35.64, -2.01, -5.34%) announced a weekly U.S. rotary rig count of 586, -3 w/w and -73 yr/yr.
