Starbucks (SBUX 93.44, +16.36, +21.2%) is the top performing stock in the S&P 500 today after announcing that CEO Narasimhan is stepping down, to be replaced by Chipotle (CMG 49.28, -6.63, -11.8%) CEO Brian Niccol. CMG is the worst performing stock in the S&P 500 on this news.
The gain in SBUX, along with action in Tesla (TSLA 205.32, +7.86, +4.0%) and Amazon.com (AMZN 167.78, +0.98, +0.6%), has contributed to the upside move in the consumer discretionary sector (+1.3%).
