Gains in mega cap names limit downside moves for indices

[BRIEFING.COM] The major indices trade at or near session lows. The S&P 500 (-0.5%) and Nasdaq Composite (-0.6%) are holding up better than other major indices thanks to ongoing buying in mega cap names.
Meta Platforms (META 508.21, +33.38, +7.0%), Microsoft (MSFT 424.44, +6.07, +1.5%), Amazon.com (AMZN 187.54, +0.55, +0.3%), Alphabet (GOOG 173.96, +0.80, +0.5%), and Eli Lilly (LLY 823.48, +19.21, +2.4%) are standouts in that respect.
Meanwhile, the equal-weighted S&P 500 trades 1.0% lower.
