[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (+0.9%), Nasdaq Composite (+0.7%), and Dow Jones Industrial Average (+1.5%) pulled back from session highs.
Ten of the 11 S&P 500 sectors remain in positive territory led by the heavily-weighted financial sector (+1.6%). Hartford Financial (HIG 109.03, +6.70, +6.7%), Aon (AON 317.40, +18.45, +6.2%), and Cincinnati Financial (CINF 125.06, +4.66, +3.9%) are top performing components after reporting earnings.
The energy sector (-0.1%) is the lone laggard in negative territory, trading down amid falling commodity prices. WTI crude oil futures are down 2.2% to $76.57/bbl and natural gas futures are down 0.2% to $2.07/mmbtu.
