[BRIEFING.COM] The tenor of today's session remains much the same: broad-based weakness with buyers lacking conviction.
The small-cap stocks, which started the weak with a full head of steam, are laggards today. The Russell 2000 is down 0.8% versus a 0.2% loss for the Vanguard Mega-Cap Growth ETF (MGK).
Notably, the semiconductor space, which has been under fire all week amid concerns about tighter export restrictions to China, is down another 1.8% today, bringing its week-to-date losses to 7.6%. For the year, however, the Philadelphia Semiconductor Index is still up 27.9%.
NVIDIA (NVDA 119.84, -1.25, -1.0%) and Adv. Micro Devices (AMD 153.18, -2.59, -1.7%) are key laggards in the group today.
