[BRIEFING.COM] Stocks hit fresh session lows in recent action. The S&P 500 (-0.5%), Dow Jones Industrial Average (-0.3%), and Nasdaq Composite (-0.9%) all trade in the red.
Renewed selling in semiconductor stocks drove major indices lower over the last half hour. The PHLX Semiconductor Index (SOX) shows a 0.9% decline after trading up as much as 1.9%. NVIDIA (NVDA 116.71, -1.24, -1.0%) and Broadcom (AVGO 154.81, -1.18, -0.8%) were rebounding earlier, trading up as much as 3.7% and 2.4%, respectively.
The turnover action coincided with the S&P 500 information technology sector hitting a new session low, down 1.2%.
