[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite haven't exhibited much up or down movement over the last half hour.
Small cap stocks continue to outperform, leading the Russell 2000 to trade 2.4% higher.
The small cap index has been supported by gains in regional bank components and energy shares. Positive price action in the these spaces also has the SPDR Regional Banking ETF (KRE) trading 3.1% higher and the energy sector showing a slim gain.
