Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The pullback from the opening highs has persisted with the Dow, Nasdaq, and S&P 500 now little changed for the day.

The move has mimicked in part the behavior of the Vanguard Mega-Cap Growth ETF (MGK 316.81, -0.19, -0.1%), which had been up 0.8% and is now down 0.1% for the day.

Market internals have compressed in conjunction with the pullback, but with the influence of the mega-cap stocks, internals don't look as lackluster as one might think. Advancers lead decliners by a not quite 8-to-5 margin at the NYSE and by an 11-to-9 margin at the Nasdaq.

The equal-weighted S&P 500 (+0.2%) has pulled ahead of the market-cap weighted S&P 500 (+0.1%).
