Today's trade features buying activity in areas of the market that were left out of the recent run. The Russell 2000 (+0.6%) and S&P Mid Cap 400 (+0.7%) are trading higher today after trailing the S&P 500 this month. The Russell 2000 is 1.7% lower so far in June and the S&P Mid Cap 400 is down 0.9% for the month versus a 3.8% gain in the S&P 500.
The Russell 3000 Growth Index is down 0.4%, but 5.8% higher this month, versus a 1.1% gain in the Russell 3000 Value Index, which is 0.1% higher on the month.
