Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The stock market opened to lackluster action. The S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite are slightly higher than Friday's closing levels while the Dow Jones Industrial Average outperforms, showing a 0.7% gain. 

Losses in the mega cap space have acted as a limiting factor for the broader market. Shares of NVIDIA (NVDA 122.75, -3.90, -3.1%) are trading down 3% after registering solid gains this month. Shares are still up 12.5% in June. 

This price action has weighed on the information technology sector, which is the only sector trading lower, down 0.4%. The remaining ten sectors show gains ranging from 0.3% to 1.7%. 

There is a positive bias driving early trading. Advancers lead decliners by a nearly 4-to-1 margin at the NYSE and by a 2-to-1 margin at the Nasdaq.
