[BRIEFING.COM] The Nasdaq Composite and S&P 500 are trading near their prior closing levels, propelled higher by gains in mega cap stocks.
Apple (AAPL 216.17, +3.77, +1.8%) and Microsoft (MSFT 442.95, +0.39, +0.1%), two of the three stocks that are above $3 trillion in market cap, are standouts from the mega cap space. Broadcom (AVGO 1796.85, +60.81, +3.5%) and Eli Lilly (LLY 881.59, +3.75, +0.4%) are also trading higher, providing a measure of support to the broader market.
Meanwhile, shares of NVIDIA (NVDA 129.99, -1.90, -1.3%), Meta Platforms (META 500.26, -3.91, -0.8%), Amazon.com (AMZN 182.51, -1.14, -0.6%), and Alphabet (GOOG 176.98, -1.42, -0.8%) trade lower.
