[BRIEFING.COM] The major indices drifted lower over the last half hour. The S&P 500 slid below its prior closing level.
The equal-weighted S&P 500 is trading down 0.7% and the A-D line favors decliners by a nearly 3-to-1 margin at the NYSE and by a 2-to-1 margin at the Nasdaq.
Only two of the S&P 500 sectors remain in positive territory, reflecting broad participation in downside moves. The information technology sector is up 1.1% and the consumer discretionary sector shows a 0.1% gain.
