[BRIEFING.COM] The indices continue to trade in positive territory, bouncing back from yesterday's losses. Mega-cap stocks are again providing the muscle keeping the indices up, yet they are not alone today.
The Russell 2000, down 1.2% yesterday, is up 0.6% today; and the equal-weighted S&P 500 is up 0.2%. The Vanguard Mega-Cap Growth ETF (MGK) is up 0.7%.
Buyer conviction, though, isn't unquestionably strong as the S&P 500 pushes 6,100 and trades at 22.4x forward twelve-month earnings (a 24% premium to the 10-yr average, according to FactSet data).
Advancers lead decliners by an 8-to-5 margin at the NYSE and by a nearly 2-to-1 margin at the Nasdaq.
