Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] Downside moves in the stock market coincided with a surge in the 10-yr Treasury note yield from 4.53% earlier to 4.57%. The Dow Jones Industrial Average trades 0.1% lower than Monday's close and the S&P 500 shows a 0.3% decline.

The equal-weighted S&P 500 shows a 0.1% gain.

Small and mid cap stocks have held up better than their larger peers. The Russell 2000 trades 0.4% higher and the S&P Mid Cap 400 shows a 0.3% gain. The small cap index sits on a 10.4% gain since the start of the year and the mid cap index has a 12.4% gain.
