AAPL, NVDA, other mega caps fall under profit-taking
Dow -505.26 at 42820.54, Nasdaq -431.70 at 19627.15, S&P -95.19 at 5942.10

[BRIEFING.COM] The market remains in a steady decline. The Dow Jones Industrial Average trades about 500 points lower than yesterday, giving back its gain this week.

Tech stocks continue to lead the sell-off. Apple (AAPL 253.64, -5.40, -2.1%), NVIDIA (NVDA 136.11, -3.81, -2.7%), Microsoft (MSFT 427.73, -10.37, -2.4%), and other mega caps are down at least 2.0% on profit-taking activity. The S&P 500 information technology sector is down 2.2% from yesterday and the Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF (MGK) shows a 2.1% decline.

Apple shares are still 31.6% higher this year, NVIDIA shares are 174.4% higher in 2024, and Microsoft shares are 13.7% higher this year.
