[BRIEFING.COM] The Nasdaq Composite trades near its flat line while the S&P 500 moved into positive territory, showing a 0.1% gain.
Losses in the mega cap space continue to limit index performance. The equal-weighted S&P 500 shows a 0.3% despite downward pressure from NVIDIA (NVDA 139.25, -0.94, -0.7%), Microsoft (MSFT 439.15, -0.15, -0.03%), Amazon.com (AMZN 227.49, -1.55, -0.7%), and Tesla (TSLA 456.39, -5.85, -1.3%).
Many S&P 500 sectors moved into the green as index performance improved. The industrial (+0.3%), real estate (+0.2%), health care (+0.2%), and information technology (+0.2%) sectors lead the pack. On the slip side, the consumer discretionary sector shows the largest decline, down 0.4% from its prior close, due to AMZN and TSLA.
