NFLX outperforms, boosting communication services

[BRIEFING.COM] There hasn't been much up or down movement at the index level in recent trading. 

Netflix (NFLX 921.72, +0.64, +0.1%) has gone against the grain, trading fractionally higher after news that Co-CEO Ted Sarandos will visit President-elect Trump, according to Variety. This price action has contributed to the gain in the communication services sector (+0.1%), along with movement in Alphabet (GOOG 198.68, +0.49, +0.3%). Meta Platforms (META 623.00, -1.30, -0.2%) was also trading up initially, as much as 1.3% at its high, before declining.

Other S&P 500 sectors trading higher include consumer discretionary (+0.3%) and consumer staples (+0.2%).
