[BRIEFING.COM] Small and mid cap stocks are participating in today's upside moves. The Russell 2000 shows a 0.5% gain and the S&P Mid Cap 400 is up 0.7% from yesterday.
Strength in the regional bank space has contributed to the gain in the small cap index, and helped the SPDR S&P Regional Banking ETF (KRE) to trade 1.3% higher.
Other bank stocks are trading higher, leading the financial sector to show a slim gain. The SPDR S&P Bank ETF (KBE) shows a 1.1% gain.
