[BRIEFING.COM] The stock and bond markets trade in mixed fashion. The Nasdaq Composite (-0.1%) trades lower while the S&P 500 (+0.2%) and Dow Jones Industrial Average (+0.3%) trade higher. The 10-yr yield is down six basis points to 4.28% and the 2-yr yield is unchanged at 4.22%.
The mixed disposition reflects some cooling off after big moves this week.
Weakness in chipmaker shares have weighed down index performance. The PHLX Semiconductor Index (SOX) trades 1.2% lower and the S&P 500 information technology sector (-0.6%) underperforms the index.
Meanwhile, the real estate (+1.2%) and utilities (+1.0%) sectors have benefitted from the action in the Treasury market.
The University of Michigan Consumer Sentiment survey rose to 73.0 in the preliminary November reading (Briefing.com consensus 70.6) from 70.5 in October.
