[BRIEFING.COM] The Dow Jones Industrial Average (+0.57%) is atop the major averages this afternoon.
A look inside the DJIA shows that Procter & Gamble (PG 166.46, +3.05, +1.87%), McDonald's (MCD 299.40, +4.74, +1.61%), and Merck (MRK 102.78, +1.61, +1.59%) hold some of today's best gains.
Meanwhile, Dow (DOW 46.48, -2.42, -4.95%) is at the bottom of the standings.
The DJIA is poised to end the week +4.58% higher.
Elsewhere, at the top of the hour, Baker Hughes (BKR 42.59, -0.51, -1.18%) announced a weekly U.S. rotary rig count of 585, flat w/w and -31 yr/yr.
