Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 has maintained a posture above 6,000 through most of the session so far, dipping to 5,992 at its intraday low. The index has only moved about 18 points between its intraday high and low. 

The equal-weighted S&P 500 has traded down today, but moves are also limited. The Invesco S&P 500 Equal Weight ETF (RSP) shows a 0.2% decline. 

Retail stocks that reported earnings since yesterday's close have garnered negative responses from investors. Best Buy (BBY 86.30, -6.73, -7.3%), Kohl's (KSS 14.95, -3.37, -18.4%), and Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF 147.22, -7.28, -4.7%) are standouts in that regard. Dick's Sporting Goods (DKS 216.37, +1.14, +0.5%) is a notable exception.
