Regional banks and energy shares boost small cap index
Dow +412.74 at 43821.21, Nasdaq -33.82 at 18932.35, S&P +21.73 at 5938.85

[BRIEFING.COM] The Russell 2000 (+1.4%) and Dow Jones Industrial Average (+0.9%) trade at session highs and continue to climb. 

The small cap index has benefitted from buying interest in its regional bank and energy-related components. Strength in these areas have boosted the SPDR S&P Regional Banking ETF (KRE), which trades 2.4% higher, and the S&P 500 energy sector, which trades 1.2% higher.

The Nasdaq Composite (-0.2%), which trades off its session low, has been left out of the rally today due to losses in names like NVIDIA (NVDA 144.95, -0.89, -0.6%), Meta Platforms (META 558.84, -6.67, -1.2%), Amazon.com (AMZN 197.99, -4.90, -2.4%), Alphabet (GOOG 166.80, -10.55, -6.0%), and Eli Lilly (LLY 745.60, -7.80, -1.0%).
