Mega caps continue to limit index performance, but many other names are trading lower also. Decliners lead advancers by a roughly 2-to-1 margin at the NYSE and at the Nasdaq.
Nine of the 11 S&P 500 sectors trade lower, leading the health care (+0.4%) and energy (+0.3%) sectors alone in positive territory. On an energy-related note, the weekly EIA crude oil inventories showed a build of 545,000 barrels.
