[BRIEFING.COM] The Dow Jones Industrial Average is down nearly 300 points and the S&P 500 is down about 70 points.
Mega caps and chipmakers continue to weigh down major indices. The PHLX Semiconductor Index (SOX) sports a 2.3% loss and the Vanguard Mega Cap Growth ETF (MGK) shows a 1.8% decline.
Earlier, business inventories rose 0.1% in September (Briefing.com consensus 0.2%) following a 0.3% increase in August.
