The CBOE Volatility Index is 8.4% higher, or 1.62, to 20.83, reflecting hedging for the possibility further downside.
Elsewhere, Treasuries remain near intraday high yields. The 10-yr yield is up four basis points to 4.02% and the 2-yr yield is up six basis points to 3.99%.
