[BRIEFING.COM] Stocks continue to slide, leading the major indices to show losses ranging from 0.9% to 2.3%.

Many names in the S&P 500 consumer discretionary sector are lower, leading the sector to trade 1.4% below yesterday's close. Aptiv (56.43, -12.60, -18.2%), MGM Resorts (MGM 37.24, -4.16, -10.2%), and eBay (EBAY 57.64, -4.98, -7.9%) show the steepest declines among sector components are reporting earnings results. 

Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings (25.79, +1.96, +8.2%) and Booking Holdings (BKNG 4661.24, +197.31, +4.4%), which also reported earnings, are the top performing sector constituents.
