[BRIEFING.COM] The major indices are little changed over the last half hour. The Nasdaq Composite briefly traded above its prior closing level.
Commodity futures trade mostly higher as equities slide. WTI crude oil futures are 1.5% higher at $71.13/bbl, natural gas futures trade 0.3% higher at $2.32/mmbtu, and copper futures trade 0.6% higher at $4.38/lbs.
The S&P 500 energy sector has benefitted from the price action in related commodities, leading the sector to trade higher than yesterday's close.
