Stock Market Update

[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.1%) and Dow Jones Industrial Average (-0.4%) trade near session lows. The Nasdaq Composite (+0.1%) trades slightly higher than Friday's close, benefitting from buying interest in some mega cap names.

Apple (AAPL 235.57, +0.57, +0.2%), NVIDIA (NVDA 141.24, +3.24, +2.4%), Broadcom (AVGO 180.43, +0.56, +0.3%), and Alphabet (GOOG 165.74, +0.69, +0.4%) are among the influential winners. 

Gains in some of the aforementioned names has propelled the S&P 500 information technology sector to trade 0.4% higher. The only other sector trading higher is energy (+0.1%), responding to rising commodity prices. WTI crude oil futures are up 1.3% to $69.50/bbl and natural gas futures are up 2.6% to $2.32/mmbtu.
