Small and mid cap stocks are outperforming their larger peers, which has been the case all week. The Russell 2000 trades 1.4% higher today, bringing its gain this week to 2.2%.
Regional bank shares have boosted the small cap index. Strength in this area has led the SPDR S&P Regional Banking ETF (KRE) to trade 1.5% higher.
