[BRIEFING.COM] The S&P 500 (-0.2%) and Nasdaq Composite (-0.5%) turned lower, falling below prior closing levels.
Downside moves coincided with chipmakers turning sharply lower. NVIDIA (NVDA 131.49, -6.70, -4.9%) and Broadcom (AVGO 175.12, -7.16, -4.0%) were trading near their prior closes earlier, but show solid losses now. The PHLX Semiconductor Index (SOX) shows a 4.1% loss.
The S&P 500 information technology sector shows a 1.6% decline.
