Today's broad advance has the equal-weighed S&P 500 trading 1.1% higher and nine of the 11 S&P 500 sectors moving up. The financial sector (+2.1%) leads by a decent margin after some big components reported pleasing earnings results this morning. The industrial sector is the next best performer, up 1.7%, followed by real estate (+0.8%) and materials (+0.8%).
Elsewhere, Treasury yields are slightly lower. The 10-yr yield is down two basis points from yesterday at 4.08% and the 2-yr yield is down five basis points to 3.95%.
