In corporate news:
Tupperware (TUP) lowers first quarter guidance below current expectations.
Revenue for the first quarter of 2018 is expected to have decreased 2% (6% in local currency) versus the prior year, which would be 3-points below the low end of the company's previous guidance range in dollars and local currency.
As a result, and also reflecting an approximate 6-cent impact from a higher than previously foreseen income tax rate related to the U.S. Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017), the company has updated its first quarter 2018 EPS without items to range between $0.87 to $0.92 from $1.01 to $1.06, which easily comes in below expectations.
