The EIA released its weekly natural gas storage data. This initially gave prices a boost, but that was short-lived and Jan nat gas settled today -$0.04 lower at $2.60/MMBtu.
This morning, the EIA showed that natural gas inventory data showed a draw of 182 bcf vs a draw of 69 bcf in the prior week.
Working gas in storage was 3,444 Bcf as of Friday, December 15, 2017, according to EIA estimates. This represents a net decrease of 182 Bcf from the previous week. Stocks were 183 Bcf less than last year at this time and 84 Bcf below the five-year average of 3,528 Bcf. At 3,444 Bcf, total working gas is within the five-year historical range
