rallied for a fourth straight session on Wednesday, with financials and
materials shares leading the charge. The Nasdaq and the Russell 2000 hit new
record highs for the third day in a row, adding 0.7% apiece, and the Dow led
the major indices with a solid gain of 1.4%. The benchmark S&P 500 index
added 0.9%, closing at its best level in three months.
