Early Gains Extended
- U.S. Treasuries trade on their highs after adding to their initial gains. Treasury futures bounced off pre-market lows amid early-morning reports that another deal between the U.S. and Iran is taking shape, which would increase traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. The pre-market rebound allowed for a modestly higher start, followed by an extension to fresh highs with shorter tenors in the lead as WTI crude falls below $76/bbl. Equities are off to a strong start with the S&P 500 (+0.9%) hitting a fresh record high while the Nasdaq (+1.5%) has reached its best level in six weeks.
