Under Early Pressure

  • U.S. Treasuries have slipped to fresh lows, adding to their losses from Monday. Treasuries started the day near their flat lines, but selling pressure began building about an hour after the cash start. The early selling is putting the 5-yr yield on the verge of hitting a fresh high for the year while yields on 10s and 30s are continuing their push toward their highs from May. Interestingly, the early weakness has not prevented equities from an upbeat start that has the Nasdaq adding nearly 1.0%.
