[BRIEFING.COM] The stock market continues to drift along in a narrow range. In fact, for about three straight hours the S&P 500 has stayed within a three-point span. Although it hasn't been exciting, the drift has helped the broad market maintain a narrow gain.
While the broad market remains range bound, utilities stocks have staged a steady ascent that has the sector up 0.8%. That's double the gain of the Consumer Discretionary sector, which represents the second best performing sector with its 0.4% gain.
