Markets closed lower for a third consecutive session after disappointing data out of China and Japan along with a rise of Spanish yields weighed. A tamer than expected 2.2% YoY Chinese CPI reading and a 14.8% MoM plunge in Japan's core machinery orders pushed Asian markets lower, and that weakness spread into Europe as Spain's 10-yr climbed back above 7.00%. All three of the major averages finished in the red with as the Dow paced the decline with a loss of 0.3%.
