Getting Started
Each day, we seek to provide timely trading setups suitable for
a professional trading audience. We present ideas not only from
our very own in-house trading analysts, but also from working
traders that regularly contribute to the service. We also strive
to continually educate our subscribers, even the ones who have
been trading for years, by sharing our techniques, strategies
and thought processes. We do so regularly via our LEARN
comments, which provide more background on the ideas we have
presented.
What to Expect
Detailed Technical Setups - We offer more than a dozen quality setups
each day. Our close-knit team of technical analysts has several decades of
combined experience in finding the breakouts, breakdowns, gaps, extensions and
pullbacks that can be traded in size. The setups are timely, and the ideas are
clearly defined. Each idea also provides the handle of the individual analyst
presenting the information, making it quick and easy to track calls from a
particular individual. Read more about our analysts.
Under-the-Radar Trading and Investment Ideas - Before bird flu and
ethanol stocks become trading phenomena, we work as a team to find you the ones
that are going to matter in coming weeks and months, and to give you the back
story before the Street is thinking about the front story.
Real-time Side-by-Side Trades with Practicing Trading Pros - In
addition to the daily information provided by our in-house team, we often
include the ideas of practicing trading professionals that have established a
winning track record with us, ones that we have come to rely upon for setups
that present favorable risk-reward ratios. Read
more about our contributors.
Live Intraday Ideas From Our Analysts - Each particular analyst is a
specialist in his or her respective field, whether it's swing trading, large-cap
technical trading, momentum stocks, fast-moving scalp trades or longer-term
position trades. We also have experts on staff with expertise in all major
sectors, from steel to semiconductors, retail to railroads.
Scans and Analysis of Up-and-Coming Stocks - The Emerging 50 is a
weekly scan of up-and-coming stocks based on a proprietary mix of fundamental
and technical criteria. But it's more than just a list of swing and position
trading ideas. We cull through the list each morning to pinpoint potential
breakouts to both the upside and downside, and to provide updates on previously
highlighted names. Read more about the E-50 and
StockWatch.
Daily Pre-market Scans of Stocks to Watch for Up/Downside Moves - Most
of our subscribers want to make money both long and short. That's why we provide
both constructive and destructive potential breakout candidates in the
pre-market, as well as our daily E-50 roundup of both
Bullpen and Bearpen names.
Information Flow From Trading Desks - Each day, we utilize our
buy-side contacts, company sources, and individuals that work at all levels of
the major brokerages to give you timely stock information flow. Whether it's
takeover chatter, a key contract renewal, or government approvals, we strive to
make sure you'll find it here first.
Real-Time Reports and Analysis From Live Conference Calls - Our
analysts spend hours each day listening to company conference calls, with an ear
trained for the type of comments that can become stock-moving, and in some
cases, market-moving events. Our coverage includes earnings presentations,
company analyst days, and conference coverage.
Timely Information Alerts That You Won't Find Elsewhere - When a stock
starts to move, our analyst team often knows the reason. If we don't, we work to
find it rapidly, so you can make an informed trading decision. We also present
sympathy plays - stocks that will move on another company's news because of
their relationship as a competitor, customer or supplier. In addition, we
provide the analyst stock calls on the pint-sized growth names, and the gems
with little market exposure. You'll also get calls from boutique firms that are
experts in particular names and sectors, and recommendations from important
newsletters.
Candid Opinions of Intraday Events that Combine Trading Instincts with
Analysis
- When key news hits, we tell you what we know, and what we think. We
work to give you an informed opinion quickly, so experienced traders can digest
the news and get on with making a trading decision.
Speculator's Radar Ideas for Bulletin Board and Micro-cap Traders -
For those who are willing to go small and accept large risks, our Speculator's
comments work to find the sub-$200 million cap stocks that we think have the
potential to move big in a short amount of time. Many of the ideas are simply
presented as background. Others correspond with particular entry and exit
points.
Briefing.com's Premium Platinum Service - All Live In-Play®
content is integrated into the BriefingTrader service. You'll get
summaries of market-moving financial news throughout the trading day, analyst
upgrades and downgrades, as well as our pre-market and after-hours coverage. In
addition, you can access commentary, including as Dick Green's Page One,
Robert Reid's Small Cap Focus, and Scott Smith's Swing Trader
columns.
