    Instructions for Internet Explorer version 6.0 (for Windows XP Service Pack 1, Windows 98, Windows 2000 and Windows M.E.)

    Follow these steps to ensure that your Internet Explorer browser is optimally configured to access Briefing.com:

    • From an Internet Explorer menu (the top of the Browser window)
    • Select Tools
    • Scroll Down to Internet Options

    • We recommend that you clear your browser's cache. Select the General tab and then click Delete Files from the Temporary Internet files section.

    • A confirmation dialog box will appear. Check the box next to Delete all offline content then confirm your selection by pressing OK.

    • In the Temporary Internet files section click the Settings button.

    • Under Check for newer versions of stored pages: select Every visit to the page

    • Press OK

    Because Briefing.com utilizes cookies and client-side scripting, the following items need to be enabled in your browser. They will allow you to use the full functionality of Briefing.com's services.

    • Within Internet Options select the Privacy tab
    • Click the Advanced button

    • Select the box next to Override automatic cookie handling
    • Under First-party Cookies select Accept
    • Select Always allow session cookies
    • Press OK

    • Press OK to exit the Internet Options dialog box.

    Instructions for Internet Explorer version 6.0 (for Windows XP Service Pack 2)

    Follow these steps to ensure that your Windows XPSP2 browser is optimally configured for accessing Briefing.com:

    • You will need to perform a search for your Briefing.com files, shortcuts and cookies by going to your desktop.
    • From Start Menu, select Search. At All or Part of filename, type in briefing - choose search and press enter.
    • Delete all files that have an icon resembling a piece of paper, labeled .txt or labeled with an Internet Explorer icon.
    • After you are finished, close Search Results.

    In addition, to the above steps:

    • Make sure your computer clock has the correct date.
       
    • From your desktop, right-click on the Internet Explorer icon and select Properties.
    • On the General tab, select Settings and make sure Every Visit to the Page is selected.
       
    • On the Security tab, select Internet icon and then choose Custom Level.
    • Scroll down to Miscellaneous and check Enable for Access data sources across domains, Allow Meta Refresh, and Display mixed content.
    • After all selections, click OK. You will receive a message that says Do you want to make those security changes? Click Yes.
       
    • On the Security tab, select Trusted Sites and then Sites.
    • Deselect the checkmark from Require server verification for https:...and then add www.briefing.com as a trusted site.
       
    • Select Privacy tab, and select Sites to make sure www.briefing.com is an Allowed site.
    • Select Advanced and make sure Override automatic cookie handling and First & Third party cookie selections are set to Accept.
    • Go to Pop-up blocker section and make sure www.briefing.com is added as an Allowed site. Then at the bottom, change Medium setting to Low. (Note, this is safe as you have already added Briefing.com as a trusted site)
    • You are now finished with changes to your Internet Explorer properties and you may log back into www.briefing.com. Keep in mind that Briefing.com will automatically save your password.

    Instructions for AOL 9.0 and AOL 9.0 SE

    Follow these steps to ensure that your AOL 9.0 browser is optimally configured for accessing Briefing.com:

    • Make sure that your computer clock is set to the correct date.
    • Close all but one AOL browser window.
    • Click the Settings icon along the top of the AOL application. In the window that opens, choose the View Index tab and click on the Browser Settings link.
    • In the Temporary Internet Files section of the General tab, click the Delete Cookies button, and click OK in the confirmation pop-up. This will delete all cookies.
    • In the same section of the General tab, click on the Delete Files button. In the window that opens, place a check mark in the Delete All Offline Content check box, then click OK.
    • Within the same section of the General tab, click on the Settings button and select the Every Visit to the Page button, then OK.
    • In the Privacy tab, click on the Advanced button. In the window that opens, check the box next to Override Automatic Cookie Handling. Make sure the First-party Cookies button is set to accept and click OK.
    • Select the AOL Browser tab. In the Top Speed - AOL Browser Accelerator area, click on the Do Not Store Web Pages button. Click on Apply then OK to exit the Internet Properties section.
    • Close AOL completely. The changes will take effect once you re-launch AOL.
    • Please be sure to save your password at the Briefing.com login page (it is automatically saved), and select content from the Platinum Index.

    The above steps are the same for AOL 9.0 SE with the exceptions of:

    • Go to AOL settings/preferences and make sure that the Top Speed feature is turned off, as this setting is NOT compatible with Briefing.com.
    • If you use Internet Explorer settings while on AOL 9.0 SE, see settings for General, Security & Privacy tabs in the Internet Explorer Properties area.
    • For AOL Toolbars, make sure that the number of blocked pop-ups is not shown on  www.briefing.com pages.

    Instructions for FireFox

    Follow these steps to ensure that your FireFox browser is optimally configured for accessing Briefing.com:

    • Open your FireFox browser.
    • Select Tools, then Options.
    • At Privacy Menu, select Cookies and make sure the checkmark is shown at Allow Sites to Set Cookies.
    • Select Exceptions button, add www.briefing.com, select Allow and click on OK.
       
    • At Web Features menu, make sure check mark is shown at Block Pop-up Windows, select Allowed sites, add www.briefing.com, then select Allow and click OK. Make sure check marks are shown at Enable Java and Enable Java Script options.
       
    • Make sure a check mark is shown at Allow web sites to Install Software, select Allowed sites button, add www.briefing.com, select Allow and then click OK.
       
    • Make sure a check mark is shown at Load Images, select Exceptions button, add www.briefing.com, select Allow and click OK.
       
    • Log into Briefing.com.

    Instructions for Netscape

    Follow these steps to ensure that your Netscape browser is optimally configured for accessing Briefing.com:

    • From the Netscape 7.1 Edit Menu, select Preferences and then expand the Privacy and Security section.
    • Click on Cookies, select Enable cookies for the originating web site only.
    • Expand the Advanced Section and click on Cache.
    • Click the Clear Cache button, select Every Time I View the Page in the Compare Page to Cache Page in the Network Section, and click OK.
    • Close all Netscape windows.
    • Open a new window and go to www.briefing.com.

    To remove one or more cookies from your computer:

    • Open the Tools menu and choose Cookie Manager.
    • Choose Manage Stored Cookies from the submenu. The Cookie Manager window opens with a list of all cookies stored on your computer.
    • Select one or more cookies and click Remove Cookie, or Remove All Cookies.
