Clearing the Cache in America Online
You may be having trouble seeing pages such as
Live In Play®
or Live Headlines
with your AOL browser. Because of an overwhelming demand from our
subscribers, we have implemented pages that refresh automatically.
Third party browsers (Microsoft Internet Explorer or Netscape
Navigator, for example) display the pages correctly. Third party
browsers can be found at the
Microsoft or
Netscape Web sites. You should clear (or "purge") your disk
cache on a regular basis, especially if you are having problems seeing
Web pages. While a healthy cache can speed up your Web surfing, you
might start to get problems when the cache begins to fill up. The
procedure for clearing your disk cache will depend on your Web browser.
If your America Online software does not use Microsoft Internet
Explorer, click Preferences under the Members menu at the
top of the screen, then click WWW, then the Advanced
button. Finally, click the Purge Cache button. If you are
using Microsoft Internet Explorer as your Web browser, click Options
and select the Advanced tab. Then find the "Temporary Internet
Files" section, and click the Settings button. Finally, click the
Empty Folder button. Your cache should now be cleared. You
should always receive the latest updates each time you visit a page at
Briefing.com. Company or product names are
trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective companies.
